Report on “Operation Thunder” Awareness Programme
Jointly Conducted by Nagpur City Police and Shri D.D. Nagar Vidyalaya & Junior College

Occasion: National Drugs Day

On the occasion of National Drugs Day, Shri D.D. Nagar Vidyalaya and Junior College, in collaboration with Nagpur City Police, successfully organized an awareness programme titled “Operation Thunder”. The objective of this initiative was to educate students and the community about the harmful effects of drug abuse and encourage them to lead a healthy and drug-free life.

The event began with a welcome address by the Programme Coordinator, Shri Yenurkar, who explained the significance of National Drugs Day and the purpose of Operation Thunder. He emphasized the urgent need to create awareness among the youth, who are most vulnerable to substance abuse.

Headmistress Smt. Madhuri Yawalkar expressed her appreciation for the joint efforts of the police department and the institution, and encouraged students to be vigilant and responsible citizens. She highlighted the school's continued commitment to shaping a drug-free and disciplined student community.

The guest of the programme, Smt. Kirti Balki, addressed the students and staff with a powerful and thought-provoking speech. She spoke about the devastating impact of drugs on individuals, families, and society. She urged students to stay away from peer pressure and build strong self-control and awareness. She also praised the role of law enforcement and educational institutions in preventing drug abuse through awareness and outreach programmes.

The programme included:

• An interactive session between police officials and students
• Distribution of awareness pamphlets and videos showing
• A short skit by students highlighting the dangers of drug addiction
• A pledge by all attendees to lead a drug-free life

The event concluded with a vote of thanks and a group photograph with the dignitaries.

“Operation Thunder” was a great success and served as a strong reminder of the importance of collective efforts in combating drug abuse in society

प्रसंग: राष्ट्रीय अंमली पदार्थ विरोधी दिन

राष्ट्रीय अंमली पदार्थ विरोधी दिनानिमित्त "ऑपरेशन थंडर" या विशेष जनजागृती कार्यक्रमाचे आयोजन नागपूर शहर पोलीस व श्री. दादासाहेब धनवटे नगर विद्यालय व कनिष्ठ महाविद्यालय यांच्या संयुक्त विद्यमाने करण्यात आले.

या कार्यक्रमाचे मुख्य उद्दिष्ट विद्यार्थ्यांमध्ये आणि समाजामध्ये अंमली पदार्थांचे दुष्परिणाम याविषयी जागरूकता निर्माण करणे हे होते. कार्यक्रमाची सुरुवात कार्यक्रम समन्वयक श्री. येनुरकर यांच्या स्वागत भाषणाने झाली. त्यांनी या दिनाचे महत्त्व व ‘ऑपरेशन थंडर’च्या उद्दिष्टांबद्दल माहिती दिली.

मुख्याध्यापिका सौ. माधुरी यावलकर यांनी आपल्या मनोगतातून विद्यार्थ्यांना व्यसनमुक्त राहण्याचे आवाहन केले. त्यांनी शाळेच्या अशा सामाजिक उपक्रमांतील सहभागाची स्तुती केली व विद्यार्थ्यांना सदैव सजग राहण्याचा सल्ला दिला.

कार्यक्रमाच्या प्रमुख अतिथी सौ. कीर्ती बाल्की यांनी आपल्या प्रेरणादायी भाषणात अंमली पदार्थांचे शारीरिक, मानसिक व सामाजिक परिणाम स्पष्ट केले. त्यांनी विद्यार्थ्यांना समजूतदार राहून चुकीच्या संगतीपासून दूर राहण्याचा सल्ला दिला. त्यांनी पोलीस विभाग आणि शैक्षणिक संस्थांच्या संयुक्त प्रयत्नांचे कौतुक केले.

कार्यक्रमात पुढील गोष्टींचा समावेश होता:

• पोलीस अधिकारी आणि विद्यार्थ्यांमध्ये संवाद सत्र
• अंमली पदार्थांवरील माहितीपत्रके वाटप व माहिती पट
• विद्यार्थ्यांनी सादर केलेले सामाजिक नाट्य
• सर्वांनी घेतलेली व्यसनमुक्तीची शपथ

कार्यक्रमाचा समारोप आभारप्रदर्शन व सामूहिक छायाचित्राने करण्यात आला.

"ऑपरेशन थंडर" हा उपक्रम अत्यंत यशस्वी ठरला असून अंमली पदार्थविरोधी जनजागृतीसाठी एक महत्त्वपूर्ण पाऊल ठरले.
